WATERING INSTRUCTIONS
Each seasonal planter is curated with fresh, vibrant plants designed to thrive outdoors—but a little care goes a long way. Below are general watering guidelines for each season.
🌸 Spring Care
- Water every 2–3 days, depending on temperature and sunlight.
- Don’t rely on light spring rain—give your container a full, slow soak to reach the root zone.
- If temperatures reach 70°F or higher, water every other day.
- Spring planters can handle cold, even snow. However, during a hard frost warning (below 30°F), protect with a light frost cloth or bed sheet.
- Avoid plastic covers, which can damage plants.
☀️ Summer Care
- Consistent watering is essential, especially during hot weather.
- Above 80°F: Water daily, ideally in the morning. Slowly soak the container, wait, then soak again.
- 60–70°F: Water every other day.
- Be sure to water thoroughly, reaching all sides and the center of the pot.
- Even after rain, check your planter to ensure it’s properly hydrated.
- Shade-loving plant mixes may need slightly less water, but still check regularly.
🍂 Fall Care (Mums + Grasses)
- Mums and fall grasses thrive in cooler temperatures but still need consistent watering.
- Water every 2–3 days during mild weather.
- Above 75°F: Check daily and water as needed.
- Mums are sensitive to dry soil—always aim for moist (not soggy) conditions.
- Remove spent blooms to extend the blooming season.
- If temperatures dip below freezing, mums may fade early. Grasses and trailing greens typically hold their shape and color through the first frost.
❄️ Winter Care (Evergreen Porch Pots)
- Your winter container is filled with fresh, cut greens—not living plants—so minimal care is needed.
- After the initial soak, check weekly:
- If there’s snow or rain, you’re good!
- If it’s dry and above 45°F, water lightly to keep the greens hydrated and prevent drying.
- No need to water below freezing—your arrangement will stay beautiful with minimal input.
